Before launching Kathy Penner Communications, I was a successful professional in the non-profit sector for 20+ years, working with a number of wonderful groups making a real difference in our community.
Over the course of eleven years, I served with Friends of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights (CMHR), supporting a $160M, national fundraising campaign through several senior roles, including Chief Development Officer and Director of Donor Relations.
Prior to working with Friends of the CMHR, I filled various development and communications positions at other community organizations, including Manitoba Theatre for Young People, FortWhyte Alive and the Winnipeg Core Area Initiative.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience through mentoring and volunteering, most recently serving as a board member and co-chair of the Development Committee with the amazing Winnipeg Folk Festival.
I bring my skills, experience, and passion for communicating to my work.
