Deer Lodge Centre’s motto is, “Making Lives Better”, and that’s what they’ve been doing since establishing in 1916 as a convalescent hospital for returning WWI soldiers.
Today, Deer Lodge Centre treats a large population of community patients and residents as well as Veterans. In addition to being the largest rehabilitation and long-term care facility in Manitoba, the Centre offers a wide range of programs and services to meet community needs, including geriatric mental health outreach programs, respiratory therapy, care for people with cognitive impairment, rehabilitation services, and services for ALS patients. The Centre also partners with the University of Manitoba in several areas of research and is one of Canada’s premier resources for information on geriatrics and gerontology.
Manitoba’s Baby Boomers are entering their senior years, and Deer Lodge Centre must expand its programs, services and facilities to continue meeting the community’s needs in the years ahead.
Gifts to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation support state-of-the-art equipment, innovative research, educational and training programs and expanded facilities, strengthening the Centre’s capacity to provide the highest quality of life possible for patients and residents.
